GHS59-60th-Reunion

After our 55th reunion we thought we could never have another reunion event that would equal that great get together. Well, from the feedback we have received from many who attended this event, this reunion met and even exceeded their expectations.

The area set aside for us at Williams Restaurant provided a lot of room to “mingle” and mingle we did. Bonds first formed over 60 years ago were renewed and many new ones made
.
The first item on the program was to have all classmates adjourn to the fireplace room to have the class picture taken. Then a blessing was said by Curt in thanks for the meal and all classmates, our teachers and the community we were blessed to call home in our growing up years.

Absolutely wonderful service was provided by classmate Jackie (Frenette) St Jean’s daughters who work at Williams. Daughter Cindy even made a great pumpkin roll desert that was delicious.The committee had chosen the best option of three buffet choices and it was the correct choice. Many complimented on the excellent buffet dinner.

Before dinner we were entertained by magician Ed Raymond as he approached groups of us with his flaming wallet, one dollar bills than turn into $5’s, and some nifty card tricks.

We recognized classmates who have passed away through the years as class officer Ed Nobrega read the now (sadly) long list of names.

As is our tradition at all our reunions, we sang the “Alma Mater” and “Glory to Gardner”, the GHS fight song. Door prizes were drawn which included a $50 bill (cost of attending), two beautiful framed wildlife pictures taken by Norman, the pumpkins and Mum center pieces, and cd’s of the most popular songs from ‘58 and ‘59.
