Wow! What a start to our gala weekend. The tour of “our GHS” was terrific and a great walk down memory lane - well maybe not so for everyone. Back in our days at GHS we used to send Freshman looking for that elusive elevator that didn’t exist. Well, at what is now the Elm St School that holds the third, fourth and fifth graders in Gardner, there is an elevator.
Several of the class of ‘59 got intimately introduced to the new elevator as it became stuck and wouldn’t open just at the end of our tour.It took firemen & elevator techs over two hours to free our classmates and the school principal. She probably won’t be giving this tour again anytime soon. But they all arrived at  Williams very late but unharmed.
The social hour was a great start to the weekend and was just the kind of event classmates requested, where the focus was on mixing and meeting in a relaxing setting without blasting music. The “goodies” just kept coming at Williams and the system of never ending appetizers worked just perfect.
The evening gets an A+, but maybe not from those that were stuck.
